Heartfelt “Thanks” from Green U

Vermont Soap has been supporting the Teens Turning Green program which helps teach young people about making sustainable choices. Green University – one of the TTG programs – is a 30 day challenge by students all across the world. Vermont Soap received some very touching notes of appreciation from some of the Green U finalists:

Dear Kristen,

Last month’s Green U was, undoubtedly, one of the most amazing experiences of my life– and I think I can speak for all of the finalists when I say that. After spending a month immersed in the knowledge and resources offered by PGC and working to make the transition from conventional to conscious living, Green U was the final motivation that we needed to push us so far into the conscious realm that I don’t think any of us will ever look back. Leaders from all over the eco-world lent their voices and sparked even more inspiration within us to start expanding and putting to use the newly acquired wisdom that we can apply to our own lives, school campuses and communities around us.

Because of PGC, I became infinitely more aware of the negative impacts posed by many of the products I use every single day. I had always known that they contained chemicals, but growing up with the most conventional of products, I thought all soap, deodorant, and toothpaste had to have that drug label or warning symbol in order to be effective. Through both PGC and Green U, however, I not only learned the error in my thinking, but I was also given the opportunity to experience the wonderful qualities of organic body products, like Vermont Soap. Green U actually then gave me even more motivation to seek out only the best eco-alternatives for all of my products when I need to replace them. I can’t thank you enough for being a TTG sponsor. Your support and generosity throughout allowed us finalists an absolutely life-changing opportunity in so many ways.

I must also sincerely thank you for all of the work you do to lessen the environmental and health impacts of personal care products in general. Your commitment to healing the relationship between humanity and our planet through the production of only the best, most natural ingredients is both admirable and inspiring. Thank you for providing us with samples of your product, especially the Lemongrass Zen soap, because I love knowing that I can use it without the risk of aggravating my sensitive skin (which I probably got from all of the chemical products I used to use!).

Thanks to your support of TTG, youth like me can become informed about environmental challenges and solutions and actually start making the individual changes necessary to impact the world. On behalf of all of the finalists and Teens Turning Green, we so appreciate your dedication to this organization and all that it stands for.

Warmest regards,

Emily

Dear Vermont Soap,

I want to thank you for the tremendous and generous support of both PGC 2013 and Green U. It was the most memorable weekend of my life. The experience was transformational and it wouldn’t have happened without the support and inspiration of so many extraordinary leaders and partners. Throughout the month of October during PGC, I received a variety of your organic and fair trade products as part of the prize packages. Just reading the back of the soap bottles is enough to feel your passion and dedication towards sustainable products that benefit people and the planet. The products that you shared with so many young eco leaders will inspire us to be conscious consumers and consider the impact of each purchase we make.

I can’t even find the words to describe how massively Project Green Challenge has impacted my life and changed the way I think and act on a daily basis. It has given me the motivation and confidence to follow my dreams no matter how unrealistic they may seem! What we all strive for can be solitary work, but now I can always be reminded that I’m not alone. I now know there are incredible people and businesses like you that share this passion and have acted on it. Reading about how Vermont soap got started, the quality at which you produce soaps and how you take on the responsibility of reducing your impact on the planet have helped me realize that it is so vital to always follow ones passion. Vermont Soap is truly an inspiration, rising about the social “norm” of large corporations with values and business practices that we can all look up to. I love being able to feel great about what I am washing my body with every day!

As the PGC 2013 Runner up, I look forward to being involved with TTG and our partners who have made this initiative a reality. I know I will become more inspired as my “activist” role grows. These 30 days have helped me to find my path in life and have given me the opportunity to take my first steps toward conscious living. I am truly grateful. I will be at the Expo West and look forward to meeting you and saying thank you in person. Until then, have a wonderful start of 2014!

Warmest Regards,

Megan Fuerst
