Is your baby shampoo and wash tear free?
Nope. Soap stings eyes a bit. So do chemical detergents. In fact anything that foams will irritate eyes.
In order for eyes not to sting multi national companies employ two strategies.
One is to anesthetize the eyes. By putting a topical anesthetic into the shampoo, mass market products avoid the sting. Alternatively, a filming agent which coats the eyes is sometimes used. Here, the eyes are not in contact with the shampoo due to the film that forms over them
We recommend using organic personal care products and buying a shower visor to deflect suds from young eyes.
All the Best!
