Can I melt your bar soaps and pour them into my own molds?
Hello, love your soap!
Is it possible to melt your bar soaps and pour them into my own molds? Can you recommend any resources or provide guidance on how to learn the process?
Many Thanks,
Ben
Hi Ben,
It IS possible to remelt our bar soaps with 50% distilled water and pour into block molds. You will have to cure out the water for at least three weeks. Keeping the mass in air conditioning during this period will help a lot. Try not to whip air into it when you stir – unless you want floating soap. The final product is not excellent. One year we made thousands of bars this way from scraps and such and gave the lot away to non-profits. The bars were usable but they were substandard in every way.
