Can Vermont soap bars be used to wash hair?

The answer is yes – with some qualifications.

  1.  essential oils do not do well over the long term in hair care products
  2.  the finer the hair the better the results

Soap products do not do as well with kinky/curly hair for some reason, but excel with finer hair types. I recommend trying the Butter Bar. You are most likely to have satisfactory results with it.

    I do fine using the bar soap on my thick long hair, but it does require a follow- up rinse with diluted organic apple cider vinegar that I leave in for a couple of minutes then rinse out. Shiny and soft and manageable.
