What’s a good soap for normal to oily skin?
Hi,
Are any of your soaps good facial cleaners? I have normal to oily skin.
And how many oz. are your bars of soap?
Thanks
Michelle
Hi Michelle,
Both good questions.
Handmade soap has a high water content. It starts out the consistency of pancake batter and then sets up solid in block molds. Freshly cut bar soaps weigh about 4.2oz. After a month in the curing room (yup it really does take a month to make a great bar of soap) they weigh about 3.75oz. One year later they might weigh 3.25oz which is how we label them. In terms of size the bars measure a little over 1x2x3” or the same size as most 3.75oz bar soaps.
I shave and wash my face and body with the same bar of soap. One bar used this way lasts about 3 weeks for me, but results will vary with technique!
For normal to oily skin the Lemongrass bar is a real favorite. Lemongrass oil provides mild astringency (closes pores a bit) and it smells terrific. Give it a try!
