My baby keeps eating your soap!

Hi,

My 18 month daughter insists in licking her skin while I am soaping her with your shower gel.

I try to discourage it but usually loose the battle… Should I be worried?

I am flattered that your daughter likes to taste our soap! Our shower gels are safe and nontoxic and a few molecules picked up on the tongue will do no harm. I would ignore it so it doesn’t become a game.

Humans are generally hardwired to avoid the taste and smell of caustic/alkali which is why most soap products are scented. The reason for the avoidance mechanism is that caustics are not food. Our Baby Wash Gel is superfiltered and has little of that classic soapy/caustic edge to it. If you taste it yourself you will see however that even natural organic soap…tastes like soap. Check to see if she is getting enough potassium these days. It is hot in PA these long summer days and she may be sweating out potassium faster than she is ingesting it. I mention this because we use potassium salts to manufacture this product and her body may be craving it. Just a hunch but worth checking into.
