The Truth Behind Melaleuca Oil

June 12, 2015

There have been some new health and beauty products that have hit the market with melaleuca oil as the featured ingredient. They look very swanky and are being sold at a premium. But guess what folks? Melaleuca Oil is simply a fancy name for Tea Tree Oil! Tea Tree Oil is an excellent natural antiseptic and we have LOTS of products with Tea Tree Oil in them: Tea Tree Bar Soap – A wonderful facial soap for troublesome “t zone” areas and those annoying little breakouts. Blue Bar Soap – Double the Tea Tree with a dash of mint. Foaming…

Vermont Soap is participating in the third annual SLOW LIVING SUMMIT on June 4-6, 2014 in downtown Brattleboro VT! Our booth will be located on the Brattleboro Commons near the intersection of Park Place and Linden Street. We will be displaying products and giving away samples as well as offering products for sale. Our mission is twofold. Spring Cleaning

March 20, 2015

Spring is the magical time when people sweep away the winter blues and throw open their windows – to keep from gagging on the noxious odors caused by their spring cleaning products. Many conventional cleaning products include chemicals that come with hefty warning labels: “Keep away from children” or “Harmful if swallowed” and “Use only with proper ventilation”. If these products are supposed to make our homes safer, why are they so dangerous? It doesn’t have to be this way! Vermont Soap’s Liquid Sunshine is an incredibly versatile product that contains ZERO Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or other detergents, alcohols, artificial…

As if there aren’t already enough scary chemicals in “main stream” products… Growing Scrutiny for an Allergy Trigger Used in Personal Care Products – The New York Times We cannot stress enough the importance of knowing what you’re putting on your skin. If you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t use it. We are saddened to hear that people have to suffer because of obscure, man-made chemicals in personal care products.

Unique Gifts!

December 11, 2014

You may have noticed that we do not have many of our regular gift items available this year for holiday gift-giving. This is because we are still rebuilding our inventory after the factory fire we had this June. But don’t let that stop you from giving Vermont Soap products this season! We have gift bags and crates available in our store. If you’re looking for something different, we also gathered some creative, unique ways of delivering a bit of soapy cheer: Buy a box of our naked bar soaps and dress them up! Use brown craft paper to wrap a bar of…

November 26, 2014

There is a lot going on in the next few days: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and… Small Business Saturday! In 2010 Small Business Saturday was born as a way to celebrate and support local businesses. Small businesses help communities thrive and so skip the mall this Saturday and hit Main Street instead! We’ll be there! Our retail shop in Middlebury, VT will be open from 10am-3pm. We look forward to seeing you this weekend! Happy Thanksgiving!

Travel Naturally with Vermont Soap

November 8, 2014

Traveling is stressful enough without being separated for days on end from your favorite soap! Far too often, we see an amenity soap in a hotel room that says “organic” on the label, but it’s not properly certified and doesn’t list the ingredients. Our TSA-friendly sizes allow you to take comfort in using products you trust when away from home. We have three travel-sized products for your soapy enjoyment: boxed bars, shower gel, and liquid Castile soap. The bar soap and shower gel are useful for the obvious reasons, but the liquid Castile soap can be used for so many…
