Switching to an organic deodorant is as easy as buying a new stick and using it, but there will be an adjustment period.
You should expect to sweat a little more than you feel you should at first. We’re not 100% sure why this phenomenon occurs, but it may have something to do with your body clearing out your pores and sweating out all the toxins it’s accumulated over the years from conventional deodorants. For whatever reason, it happens to the majority of people who switch from a conventional antiperspirant or deodorant.
For all the same reasons listed above, you may be a little smellier than you’d like at first, but this should go away with time so don’t give up! Give yourself a good 2 or 3 weeks (or even a month) for your body to adjust. If you’ve been blocking your pores for years it will take a while for everything to get cleared out. If you’re worried about it, re-apply your deodorant more than once a day. As you adjust, you may find that you need to apply less but let your body tell you what it needs (and maybe keep an extra stick at work).
As with most skin care product changes, you can’t expect a miracle overnight, but if you give organic, natural deodorant a try we bet you won’t regret it!
